Lotus Europa 47 GT Art Print – Gold Leaf Team Lotus Racing Car
Lotus Europa 47 GT Art Print
Celebrate one of Lotus's most distinctive competition cars with this Lotus Europa 47 GT art print by Graphic Deluxe.
Based on the lightweight Lotus Europa, the Type 47 was developed specifically for racing, transforming the compact mid-engined sports car into a serious competition machine. The first Type 47 appeared at Brands Hatch on Boxing Day 1966, with Lotus works driver John Miles taking victory on its debut. Lotus went on to record eight British event victories with the Type 47 during 1967.
This artwork depicts the Lotus 47 in its distinctive Gold Leaf Team Lotus red, white and gold livery, complete with race number 51 and the blue arrow motif associated with the period's racing cars. The strong red background gives the composition the character of a late-1960s paddock photograph translated into clean, minimalist graphic form.
The Type 47 was considerably more than a road-going Europa with racing decals. It used a Lotus-Ford twin-cam engine, competition suspension and a Hewland racing gearbox. At the same time, its lightweight construction and mid-engined layout gave it the characteristics Lotus had become famous for on the track.
A gift for Lotus and motorsport enthusiasts
A distinctive gift for Lotus owners, Team Lotus supporters, historic motorsport enthusiasts and collectors of classic British racing-car memorabilia. The bold graphic treatment makes it particularly suited to a home office, study, garage, workshop or automotive-themed interior.
