Pebble Beach Is About to Host the Largest Lamborghini Miura Gathering Ever Assembled

This August, for the first time in its history, Pebble Beach Golf Links will open its third fairway to the public — not for golf, but for Lamborghinis. Automobili Lamborghini and the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance have confirmed a dedicated 60th-anniversary display of the Miura, and organisers expect it to become the largest single gathering of the model ever assembled, surpassing the celebrations held for its 40th and 50th anniversaries.
The announcement, made by Pebble Beach Concours president Vince Finaldi, frames the display as part of what makes the event historically significant: a chance for the automotive world to witness milestones being set in real time. Owners from around the world are being invited to bring their cars, with registration handled through Lamborghini's own concierge team ahead of the display's public opening on Sunday, 16 August, during Pebble Beach Automotive Week.
Why the Miura Still Matters, 60 Years On
It's easy to forget, looking at the current run of mid-engined hypercars, that the layout wasn't always the default. When the Miura arrived in 1966, it introduced something the road car world hadn't really seen before: a V12 mounted transversely behind the driver, a configuration lifted from racing prototypes rather than anything on a typical showroom floor. Bodied by Bertone, it also looked like nothing else on the road at the time — low, wide, and unmistakably a departure from the front-engined grand tourers that had defined performance cars up to that point. Sixty years on, it's still generally credited as the car that invented the "supercar" category as we now understand it.
That anniversary has been the throughline of Lamborghini's calendar all year — from a dedicated "Born Incomparable" exhibition at the marque's Sant'Agata Bolognese museum, running through January 2027, to a Polo Storico heritage tour across Northern Italy for Miura owners back in May. Pebble Beach is shaping up to be the largest of these celebrations, and the most public.
A Design That Still Holds Up
Part of why the Miura keeps drawing crowds — at concours events and, increasingly, on people's walls — is that the design has aged almost eerily well. The proportions that looked radical in 1966 still read as modern rather than retro, which is a large part of why it remains such a popular subject for automotive art. Graphic Deluxe's Lamborghini Miura print leans into exactly that: lime green bodywork against a terracotta arch, with the car's distinctive rear three-quarter silhouette caught in raking light — a nod to the same low-slung drama that made the Miura a showstopper the moment it was unveiled.
